Nominations for the 2024 Australia Day awards are now open.  It’s a time to reflect and acknowledge those individuals or organisations who stood out this past year with their contribution to their community. The Australia Day awards allow the community to publicly recognise their own local heroes by shining a light on their actions and achievements.  Mayor Sean Dillon said, “The Australia Day recipients are normally the backbone of the community, cheerfully volunteering and selflessly giving of their own time to make their communities a better place.”Each year, we acknowledge those individuals who made a difference, big or small, across the year.

There are eight (8) categories available for nomination.  These are Citizen of the Year; Young Citizen of the Year; Community Event of the Year; Sportsperson of the Year; Young Sportsperson of the Year; Cultural Person of the Year;Young Cultural Person of the Year.and Volunteer Awards.
