The event consists of The Outback Sprints, a short course Henley-Style duel and elimination gift series at Barcaldine on Saturday and The Head of the Outback, a 6 km head race on the Thompson River, Longreach on Sunday. Rowers travel from across Queensland to compete in the event providing a great sporting event at the Rec Park in Barcaldine for the community to watch and enjoy.
