Funding available

$200 per eligible individual.

Who can apply?

This funding is available to school-aged children and young people who:

• Are between 10 and 18 years old; and
• Have been selected to represent the region at state level.

Eligible expenses

Funding may assist with costs such as:

• Travel
• Uniforms
• Registration or participation expenses

A maximum of two applications may be approved for each eligible person.

Funding available

Up to $1,500 in combined support, comprising:

• Up to $1,000 in in-kind support
• Up to $500 in cash funding

What this stream supports

Community Support is intended for small, local requests such as:

• Materials and supplies
• Council services
• Equipment
• Venue or facility use
• Small grassroots activities

This stream is designed for straightforward, low-risk requests that support local community participation and activities.

Applications are open all year round. There is no closing date.

Funding available

Up to $5,000 in cash funding, in-kind support or a combination of both.

What this stream supports

Community Grants support programs, events, projects and initiatives that provide a clear benefit to the community.

Examples may include:

• Community events
• Local programs and activities
• Community projects
• Initiatives with broader community participation or reach

Application requirements

Applicants must:

• Demonstrate a clear community benefit
• Provide a basic project budget
• Identify the intended outcomes of the project, program or event

Applications are assessed in accordance with the grant-round schedule below.

Funding available

$10,000 or more.

What this stream supports

Regional Impact Funding is intended for major or flagship events and initiatives expected to deliver significant outcomes for the region, including:

• Economic benefits
• Increased tourism or visitation
• Greater regional awareness and profile
• Broader community and regional benefits

This stream will provide fewer, higher-value investments in activities capable of delivering significant regional impact.

Examples may include major events such as the Tree of Knowledge Festival and Alpha Races.

Application requirements

Applicants must clearly demonstrate the anticipated regional impact of their proposal.

Successful applicants must complete and submit an acquittal report following the funded event, project or initiative.

Applications are assessed in accordance with the grant-round schedule below.

The program offers funding assistance for eligible building façade improvements and highway signage upgrades, helping businesses create a stronger visual presence and make a positive first impression on residents, visitors and potential customers.

Attractive and well-maintained business frontages play an important role in shaping vibrant and welcoming communities. Through this program, Council aims to support local business confidence, encourage investment in commercial properties and contribute to the continued enhancement of streetscapes and highway approaches across the Barcaldine Region.

Whether you are planning to refresh your shopfront, improve external building features, upgrade signage or enhance visibility from a major highway, the program may provide valuable financial assistance to help bring your project to life.

Applications open on 1 October 2026 and close on 20 November 2026.

Local business owners considering improvements to their building façade or highway signage are encouraged to review the program guidelines and submit an application before the closing date. Council welcomes projects that will contribute to attractive, professional and inviting business environments throughout the region.
