Program Overview

Barcaldine Regional Council is delivering all remaining Community Grant funding through a Quick Response Grants Round for the remainder of the financial year.

This approach enables timely and flexible support for local initiatives that deliver strong community benefit.

Two funding streams are available:

  • Stream 1: Community Groups

  • Stream 2: Schools & P&C Associations (Co-curricular focus)

Applications Close COB Wednesday, 3 June 2026. Late applications will not be accepted.

Stream 1: Community Groups

Purpose

To support local community organisations delivering initiatives that:

  • Strengthen community connection

  • Build local capacity and volunteer participation

  • Enhance liveability across the region

Eligible Applicants

  • Incorporated not-for-profit organisations

  • Community groups and clubs

  • Sporting, cultural and service organisations

Eligible Activities

Funding may support:

  • Community events and activities

  • Equipment and minor infrastructure

  • Capacity-building initiatives

  • Programs responding to local needs 

Stream 2: Schools & P&C Associations (Co-curricular)

Purpose

To support co-curricular activities that enhance student development

beyond core curriculum delivery.

Eligible Applicants

  • Schools within the Barcaldine Region

  • Parents & Citizens (P&C) Associations

Eligible Activities

Funding is available for co-curricular initiatives, including:

  • Sport and physical activities

  • Arts, music and cultural programs

  • Leadership and enrichment activities

  • Excursions, competitions and events

  • Student wellbeing initiatives outside standard curriculum delivery

Application Process

  • Applications must be submitted to grants@barc.qld.gov.au using the standard Community Grant Application Form found here: Community Grants Program(PDF, 150KB)

  • Applications close: COB Wednesday, 3 June 2026

  • All eligible applications will be assessed following the closing date

Assessment Principles

Council will consider:

  • Community impact

  • Equity and fair distribution of funds

  • Value for money

  • Readiness to deliver

Conditions

  • Council may part-fund applications

  • Successful applicants may be required to acknowledge Council support

  • A brief acquittal may be required on completion of the project
