PUBLIC NOTICE - GENERATING SALES OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOCAL TRADERS
Barcaldine Regional Council is introducing a new eProcurement process from 4 October 2016 designed to boost the local economy and drive business to local suppliers.
Mayor Rob Chandler said “Local Councils in Australia spend $20 billion a year on products and services and we want to make sure that as much of that as possible goes to our local traders. VendorPanel Marketplace will help make that goal a reality.”
VendorPanel Marketplace will be used by Council employees when there is no preferred supplier list or agreement in place and leverages the pre-existing VendorPanel system. At the heart of this solution, Barcaldine Regional Council is trying to make it easier to engage with local suppliers, give suppliers better access to Council opportunities and increase governance and transparency in the quotation process.
This new eProcurement system is an opportunity for small business owners to have their goods and services seen by a new audience, is free for suppliers to register and is easy to use.
Local suppliers can register on VendorPanel Marketplace by completing the following simple steps:
Choose relevant business category and enter name and email.Supplier will then be sent an invitation to join VendorPanel Marketplace.
Complete business profile (once registered, suppliers are visible to purchasing staff)
Council staff can send a request for quote to suppliers when relevant products/services are required
Suppliers can accept and submit a quote
Council assess quotations and awards work to selected local supplier
